My Relational Relationship

I grew up in the perfect "christian scenario." My parents were both old fashioned baptists, we attended a small baptist church every time the doors were open, & I was enrolled at a private christian school up until the time I graduated high school. It wasn't until I was taken out of these circumstances that I fully understood having a personal relationship with God.

Since I grew up being forced to learn every single day about God & how amazing & wonderful he is, it took away any desire I might have to learn that for myself. I was so focused on the facts about God so I could ace my next bible test, that I completely forgot about having a relationship with Him.

After high school, when I faced the "real world," I realized that loving God isn't based on a religion, its based on a relationship. Once I was out on my own and God wasn't being shoved down my throat every day, I actually wanted to learn about him on my own. I believe it takes desiring God to have a genuine relationship with Him.

God did this so that they would seek him & perhaps reach out for him & find him, though he is not far from any one of us. -Acts 17:27
