just some thoughts

i feel like i question every decision i make. it's just so hard to differentiate between God's will for my life & my own.
there are few things i'm sure about.
1. i'm sure that i'm called to serve in cross-cultural missions.
2. i'm sure that i need some type of degree.
3. i'm sure that GOD IS MY MAIN SQUEEZE (sorry if that's disrespectful, God)

but here are some things i'm not sure about.
1. to what capacity do you want me serving, Lord? months, years, for the rest of my life?
2. what do i major in? how could i afford college & living overseas?

i'm positive that my life will turn out fine, the way you intended it to be, Lord. but it's hard to let go & realize that your ways are not my ways, & your thoughts are not my thoughts. i'm just asking for direction & contentment knowing that i may not get the answers i want right at this very moment.

thanks to my readers in Germany! you are the acai to my smoothie.

  1. Hi Priscilla,

I like this question. It's one a think about myself a lot. I was told by a good friend, mentor and brother in God that the hardships in my life were pruning me into the man God meant for me to be. I think this somewhat relates to your question, in that God works in subtlety; he will guide you like a breeze, not push you. He will prune you throughout your life so that when you find Him (which you have) it will be in your nature to serve Him as he wants you to.

I guess what I'm saying is don't try so hard. The big man has your back, and you are who He wants you to be and you are doing what He wants you to do. So relax, He'll show you the way when you're ready.

    1. Bearded IG guy,
Thanks so much for your encouraging words. I feel like I'm always looking for a big shove from God in one direction but I love the way you put it. "He will guide you like a breeze, not push you." That's so encouraging to me and it takes away the stress of trying to figure out his plan for me.
Also, from my own experience, mentors are the biggest blessings. I'm glad you have someone so wise in your life.

Oh and PS, I promise I'm not a creep even though I fell into the category of people following the bearded man on instagram.

    2. P,

I promise you aren't creepy haha I was so surprised all these people started following me just because I had a beard! :P

I'm glad I was able to help, I like talking about this stuff but unfortunately I don't know a lot of people I can be this open with about it. People seem so closed off to God these days, like it's not "PC" to talk about Him. I must say I admire your honesty, though I guess what are blogs for if not to express yourself honestly. And I agree, mentors are a great blessing and I have been fortunate enough to find some fantastic ones throughout my life.

Hope you've had a good week, idk if your catching any of this weather but it's pretty rough out here in Boston! Anyway, take care!
